THANKS (THE FIRST OF MANY)

O.K. what was becoming a major headache was how Tony Wadsworth and his band - the fibfour were going to perform on the day. They were desperately in need of a stage and we just could not come up with any alternatives, Tony had been quoted £600.00 a figure that we could not afford on our limited budget. However Steve looks to have pulled the iron from the fire through his work contacts, its not definite but it looks like he may have gone a long way to have solving the problem, so Steve a BIG thank you. Also I would like to thank Alkesh - Store manager of Tesco's (on Fosse Rd) for his very kind donation which will help a great deal, so next time you're down there give him a big smile

NEXT MEETING

Just to remind you all that the next meeting is Thursday 17th June @ Inglehurst Junior School at 7.00pm. We are hoping to have some sort of order in place and hopefully some more ideas to put ahead. We have at the moment got approx 37 houses coming along (various amounts of people per house) but we still have more that we need to try and speak to.

DOOR KNOCK

Well we went and done a door knock last night and had a really good response, we have more to do tonight but overall am very pleased with the reception we got.
Just to let you know everyone who has paid the pound so far, this will go into a draw (as explained) and the prize will be the money that we have collected. There will also be a separate raffle taking place on the day with lots of prizes up for grabs so please bring your pennies and buy some tickets - proceeds going to LOROS.

THE PARTY

On the day of the party first of all we are hoping that it is going to be a fine and sunny day - fingers crossed.

There will be lots going on, there will be a live broadcast from Radio Leicester, we will have performances by the fib4 www.myspace.com/fibfour (beatles) and also from an Elvis impersonator (www.jamesaaronking.co.uk). There will be a raffle taking place and all funds raised will go to LOROS, who will also be holding a tombola stall. We will be holding various races and there will be tables set out with food for the children to sit at and enjoy.

We hope that many of you will come along and support us and also maybe even make new friends as that is the whole idea of this happening.

WELCOME

Hi to you all and welcome to my blog! I thought this would be a good way to communicate to you and allow you to keep up to date with everything.
As many of you will know we are holding a street party on Saturday 3rd July 2010, the idea of this is to try and create and bring our community together.
We currently have a committee up and running and our long term aim is to keep us together and hopefully arrange future events and outings.
